Kia ora koutou e te whānau,
What a busy week this has been with so much happening across the school.
The Senior Swimming Sports were so quickly and efficiently run again this year at Cannons Creek Pool that there was even time for a free swim at the end. Thanks to the staff and our helpers for supporting the children to participate in this event. We also had a swimming display from Pihinga Pod yesterday in our swimming pool here at school. It's wonderful to see the development and progress the children have made with the support of the EasySwim Swim School instructors.
Just a reminder that the teachers will be attending their Paid Union Meeting on Wednesday, 20th March and will be off site from 1p.m. We have asked that children be picked up at lunchtime if possible however, there is limited supervision available so please let us know if you need to have your child supervised. After School Care will run as usual.
Our first Parish/School Mass is being held on Sunday, 24 March at 9.30a.m. and will include the children portraying the Easter story. This is 1 of 2 Masses in the year that we request all children to attend.
On Friday evening a small group of children led the Parish in the Stations of the Cross. Thank you to Alexandra Baker, Esther Davies, Angelo Meo, Charlie Cheung and Brooke Barber for reading their parts so well and to Olivia McKennie for preparing the children.
Only 2 sleeps until our March Madness Fair and things are getting really busy. Please read the comms in this newsletter and sign up to help out of you haven't already done so.
REMINDER - Please return your filled cake boxes to the kitchen in the Junior Block (next to Room 1) by 10a.m. TOMORROW (Friday 15th)! Remember to come along to have a photo taken with your decorated box if you are entering the Cake Box Decorating Competition! Thanks in advance!

Gospel Reflection - Sunday, 17th March, 2024
Fifth Sunday of Lent
John 12:20-33
This Sunday’s Gospel prepares us to journey with Christ during Holy Week, reminding us that Jesus stayed focussed on His purpose and gave glory to God by accepting suffering and death for our salvation. Jesus teaches His disciples and us that those who want to follow Him must serve others by thinking about their needs before their own. When we do this, we too, give glory to God. - Loyola Press
Sparks of God - Term 1, Week 5
In Room 8 we have been making animal art using egg cartons.

There will be a total of 7 Fridays that pizza will be available for you to order. They are:
Weeks 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 9 and 10. Week 8 is Good Friday and there is no school.
To order pizza and/or ice blocks for your child, please follow ONE of the two processes below:
1. ORDERS FOR THE TERM: Pizza will be available for 7 WEEKS this term. So if ordering for the term, just multiply by 7. If you decide part way through the term, then calculate how many Fridays are left. Send an email to the team, outlining the following information for each child you are ordering for BUT in one email is fine.
Child’s Name:
Room No.:
Number of pizza slices - please specify if gluten free
Number of ice blocks
Cost: $1.50 per pizza slice and $1 per ice block
Multiply the order total by the number of Fridays.
2. WEEKLY ORDERS: These need to be sent to the same email address, with the same order details as in Option 1 and also paid into the same bank account number.
VERY IMPORTANT: The deadline for weekly orders is at 3p.m. on a Thursday. Unfortunately, no late orders can be accepted.
If you would like to pay in advance for a set number of weeks but not all
the weeks in this particular term, please feel free to email these details to
the team.
If your child is new to our school and only starts part way through the term,
simply adjust the number of weeks for the remainder of the term.
